Revo software offers a perfect balance of performance, economy, longevity and safety. 1.5 ECOBOOST The 3 cylinder turbocharged 1.5 EcoBoost engine in the Ford Fiesta ST MK8 is smaller than the MK7 but packs even more of a punch. The ST's impressive low-down grunt and more responsive turbo offer great performance and a lot of potential for those driven to experience its true potential. Close monitoring of the GPF system has been an essential step in finding the limitations and tuning potential of the engines. The consensus is that the GPF not only mutes but limits the engine power, Revo ECU calibration might offer a reason to dispute that.  Enhancing the vehicle with Revo ECU Software gives you much more than just an increase in power and torque. A large part of development is based on drive cycle and driver feedback.  Our calibration doesn’t just give a great dyno curve and peak power/torque figures but also delivers in feel; giving a smoother yet more responsive feel at low RPM/ partial throttle. The Revo SPS Software Switch is also available separately and can be used to quickly switch between performance modes and access the additional Anti-Theft mode.  GPF DEVELOPMENT Rather than simply removing the GPF, and therefore making vehicles illegal for road use, we have been monitoring the effects that running higher power has on them. Our Stage 2 GPF software retains the stock downpipe, factory catalytic convertor and GPF 3, although we did upgrade the GPF back section on our own ST development vehicle to give more exhaust acoustics.   Whilst we are not supporting GPF removal, over months of extensive development, we tested all variations of exhaust setups to determine the effects and restrictions of the stock downpipe and GPF. Although an exhaust system with no Catalytic convertor or GPF is always going to be slightly less restrictive than a stock system, we saw less than a 4% difference through a limited part of the rev range with little change elsewhere. There is a much more significant restriction closer to the engine; a combination of the integral manifold/port/turbine design.  All Revo Stage 2 GPF software is specifically designed for a Stock downpipe and GPF. You can read more information on GPF on our blog.    DYNO GRAPH @HUBS   ADDITIONAL FEATURES COLD START PROTECTION For engine oil to work effectively and lubricate your engine it needs time to warm up. When you first start your car, the cold oil is at its thickest, producing higher oil pressure when pumped around the engine putting extra pressure on oil seals. As the engine temperature increases, so do oil temperatures. This thins the oil, enabling it to run more freely and better lubricate the moving parts of your engine. Cold Start Protection helps protect engine components by limiting turbo boost based on RPM and oil temperature until it reaches the 80ºC optimum operating level.  TEMPERATURE PROTECTION Exhaust gas temperatures (EGT) are also monitored, adapting the operating conditions (Air Fuel Ratio) to ensure they stay within safe parameters. If EGT's reach a set upper limit, then power is automatically reduced until the engine returns to a safe operating temperature.  EXHAUST OVERRUN The ST already comes with exhaust overrun through its Active Value Exhaust. This has been enhanced by Revo offering a variation in acoustics both in sports and track modes. The duration of the overrun has been increased over Stage 1 software.     SWITCHABLE SOFTWARE1 Using an SPS switch you can take advantage of the switch-ability of Revo software. The Patented OBD2 interface is the ultimate compliment to Revo performance software, giving you the ability to switch between 3 fuel quality modes and an Antitheft mode via the vehicle OBD port. DQ381 TCU SOFTWARE  Save £200! when you purchase ECU and TCU software together IS38 ALL-WHEEL-DRIVE VEHICLES The DQ381 gearbox was released into Volkswagen AG passenger vehicles back in 2017. The 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox (0GC) was derived from the advanced development of the previous 7-speed gearboxes, such as the DQ380 (ODE) and DQ500 (0BT), which had been used in commercial vehicles from 2010 and passenger vehicles since 2011. One key feature of the DQ381 gearbox was principally aimed at increasing efficiency. Unlike the DQ380 gearbox, the DQ381 was designed to be used in both FWD and all-wheel drive vehicles on the MQB chassis platform, such as the Mk7 Golf  R, Audi S3, SQ2 and Cupra Ateca.  This 7-speed wet clutch gearbox is already an improvement over the previous DQ250 6-speed, in terms of allowing the vehicle to shift more efficiently, and with a smother gearchange due to the closer gear ratios. However, driving a DQ381 equipped vehicle you will know that there are still areas that can be improved, especially on performance modes. With the stock calibration, you may find that gear shifts happen too low in the RPM range, or too high when in sports mode. These can lead to unsmooth driving, or make the vehicle feel too aggressive. You may have also experienced clutch slip when running performance ECU Software. IT'S ALL ABOUT THE DRIVE. When at partial throttle, the gearbox isn’t always looking for the highest gear, it holds the current gear longer. Keeping the turbo spooled and the vehicle within the right power band, thus not changing up and down the gears at much and therefore offering a smoother and more enjoyable drive. It wasn't that long ago the VW Group had a 1.8T engine as the sporty powerplant for their mid-size family hatch/saloon offerings, however with a few years of 2.0T engines available in various power outputs the current 1.8TSI engine is often looked upon as the 'non-performance' option. We tend to disagree with that viewpoint, this is a great engine with a lot of untapped potentials. We've been working on calibration for this 1.8TSI in several regions with varying climatic conditions and have had the pleasure of experiencing it in all of the vehicle variants. These latest MQB chassis vehicles are typically lighter than previous versions, making them feel a little more spritely to start with. Add Stage1 Revo software into the mix and you’ve got a great package, loads of flexibility, fantastic power delivery and an engine that's as happy using its torque at low revs as it is being taken to the redline. Out of the box, the RS3 demands attention and respect, and rightly so. With 400PS and 480NM torque, an incredible 5 cylinder soundtrack, less weight than the previous model and impressive acceleration times, all the right ingredients are there. Revo ECU Software unleashes the cars full potential and boasts a staggeringly impressive 490PS and 590NM torque, that’s +90PS and +110NM more torque than it rolled out of the factory with. Intensively tested and refined over twelve months, throttle response has been dialled in to give the driver a deeper sense of connection and involvement with the car, something the stock model seems to lack. Rather than being pulled, the hike in torque gives the feeling of a firm push from the bottom of your back, and it’s addictive. The car now begs to be driven hard, it’s now able to break traction in corners, and dares you to bury your right foot. Optimised power delivery and with much more torque at its disposal, you can now drop below 4000rpm and still pull hard out of any corner without hesitation. 2.5 TFSI ENGINE A common issue shared with the pre-facelift 8v RS3, the 2.5TFSI is extremely sensitive to heat and fuel quality. Initial stages of Revo’s Software development process involve pushing the engine harder than usual to find limitations and restrictions. The team found that running more power and torque offered no improvements in acceleration times, negatively affecting the cars ability to consistently perform. Exhaust gas temperatures (EGT) were found to reach up to 960ºC when stock, this highlighted the importance of monitoring EGT’s to avoid risking exhaust catalyst (CAT) and engine failure. Revo Performance ECU Software for the TTRS & RS3 not only utilises the factory safety functions but actually improves them. You can rest assured that your vehicle is able to take all you can throw at it with integrated features exclusive to Revo ECU Software including Cold Start Protection and Temperature Protection which actively monitor oil, intake (IAT) and exhaust temperatures (EGT) and reduce power if they get too high.
