REVO RF0 WHEEL LIGHTWEIGHT. STRONG. FLOW FORMED.  OVERVIEW The RF0 wheel is a flow-formed alloy that's lightweight yet exceptionally strong, designed in-house at Revo HQ in the UK. Flow forming is one of the most advanced manufacturing technologies to enter the wheel industry. Flow Forming Technology involves the application of pressure to the inner barrel of the wheel while spinning and after it has been cast. This process stretches and compresses the aluminium, which increases tensile strength. In this respect, the process shares similar properties to those found in the forging process. The final product is lighter, stronger, has increased elongation, and much greater shock resistance as well as an increased load capacity over regular cast wheels. Whilst the RF0 wheel shares a similar design concept to our previous generation RV0, the more advanced manufacturing process offered through flow forming allows for more definition in the design, particularly noticeable in the spokes and rim edge fillets. By reducing the weight of your wheels 'unsprung weight' your suspension starts to have a much easier time. Each bump can be controlled more quickly and easily. This helps keep your tyre in contact with the road for longer, which is obviously great news for car control and braking. Reducing the 'rotational mass has its benefits too. This eliminates restrictions, including dents found on the stock charge pipe while allowing enough clearance from engine parts, increasing performance without compromising fitment.   THROTTLE PIPE DESIGN The Revo throttle pipe increases airflow by replacing the stock part with an increased diameter, mandrel-bent aluminium hard pipe and reinforced oil resistant silicone hose. The hose connection is ID-matched to promote laminar, uniform flow across the transition of parts, as well as being slightly longer for ease of installation.   ROBUST DESIGN Only Revo scrutinises every detail of the existing system to ensure a quality replacement product for your vehicle. AUDI RS3 BRAKE DISC UPGRADE The Audi RS3 comes with a fairly substantial 8-pot brake setup straight from the factory. Whilst the stock calliper works very well the same can’t be said for the discs or the factory specification pads that seem to perform best at lower temperatures or very light road use. The factory 370mm 'wavy' discs certainly look the part but the design flaw is that both discs are identical; when fitted, the cooling vanes in the right-hand disc face the wrong direction and do not offer any cooling benefit. The excessive heat this generates combined with the factory pad compound causes big issues with braking efficiency and longevity of the disc and pads. The Revo disc upgrade is designed to directly replace the stock discs and comes complete and ready to fit with left and right-handed, directional 380mm two-piece floating discs. Saving 1.2 Kg each side the disc not only weighs less than the OEM part but also features much larger, more efficient cooling veins individually designed for each side of the vehicle to ensure even braking performance, pad wear and cooling capability. This is a premium upgrade that should have come from the factory. As the Revo discs dissipate heat much more efficiently the factory pad compound works much better in real-world conditions, only when you’re using the vehicle on the track would we recommend considering a different pad altogether. Managing this heat efficiently is extremely important to avoid it transferring to the pads, calliper and fluid. The OEM RS3 discs are manufactured as a single part, pumping air in different directions on each side of the vehicle. This causes varying levels of cooling efficiency and temperatures leading to judder and brake fade. REVO DISCS Revo discs are manufactured by Alcon and utilise over thirty years of motorsport expertise in their design and manufacture. Internal vanes are used to draw air through the centre of the disc outward, allowing the heat to transfer as it passes. The rotation of the discs and vanes play an important role in brake cooling as it acts as a pump to move air and unlike the OEM brake discs, the Revo upgrade consists of a right and left-hand disc to optimise cooling and ensure consistent stopping power for your vehicle.   TWO-PIECE FLOATING DESIGN Utilising a two-piece floating design allows the disc and hat to expand radially and axially as they absorb heat generated from use, avoiding the most common cause of warping and cracking seen in single-piece rotors. Due to the efficiency of this design, Revo discs last considerably longer than factory discs. This means air can stabilise and distribute before a smooth tapered transition to the turbo.   FILTER AND HEATSHIELD Ensuring the engine has access to cold air is vital for performance. The Revo heat shield channels cold air from the front intake duct while partitioning the filter from the heat of the engine bay. The Revo Heatshield uses the stock mounting points and rubber mounting bushings to provide an easy and secure installation.   RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT All Revo products are designed in-house and are rigorously tested utilising an in-house 3D printer, latest CAD and CFD programs, hub dyno and Revo data acquisition software. The Revo intake allows the turbo to run more efficiently, intake a larger volume of air and minimise turbulence to increase both power and torque, as highlighted during controlled Dyno testing. AIRFLOW  An overall air volume increase of 50% over the OE part allows for faster and increased airflow. The carefully designed silicone hose has its own support bracket mated to a machined hose fitting, maintaining the correct position during engine movement. A constant taper in the hose ensures a smooth transition of airflow from the air filter to turbo and results in an increase in air volume over the stock part. Further helped by the machined inlet that matches the turbo inlet for the ultimate in airflow characteristics.   DYNO GRAPH Testing was carried out on an Audi S1 2.0 TFSI (6 Speed manual) with Revo Stage 1 Software fitted with the OEM system and then the Revo Air Intake System. With a consistent gain throughout the rev range, the Revo intake offered a peak gain of 12HP at the hubs over the stock part. The Audi S6 and S7 are impressive cars straight out of the box, yet when combined with Revo’s market leading software they come into a world of their own. In our search to extract more power from the mighty 4.0 TFSI engine, we quickly found that the stock air-box and filter became a major limitation for the car. During research and development, our in-house engineers worked with both the S7 and RS7 to analyse and compare the differences in each intake system, and how efficiently they performed. The direct replacement kit, which includes an RS7 air-box, Revo ProPanel filter and stepped silicone hoses was installed and tested on our in-house S7 development vehicle; the results were staggering. On our Dynopak hub dyno we saw dramatically improved power and torque throughout the rev-range, with consistent gains of +21WHP and +24NM with our Stage 2 software installed. BENEFITS Increases power and torque +21 WHP and + 24 NM gain OEM+ Look Custom designed Silicone hoses Revo ProPanel filter AIRBOX The S and RS air-box may look very similar at a glance, however after analysis and testing of both air-boxes, it was quite clear that the RS air-box had a tremendous amount of potential with a few essential improvements. The two inlet pipes have a larger 100mm diameter, allowing more air to flow with much less restriction compared to the 85mm stock air-box inlets. Revo software really allows the car to utilise this increase in airflow, all without compromising on the OEM look of the engine bay. SILICONE HOSES To compensate for the larger outlets on the RS7 air-box, we designed and developed two larger silicone hoses to join the air intake system to the engine. Revo’s flush fit designed silicone hoses connect to the air-box without any internal restriction, minimising turbulence and allowing a smoother flow of air to maximise performance. REVO PROPANEL FILTER The standard paper filter found in most vehicles performs well under normal conditions, however with increased power it becomes a major choking point in the system. Revo ProPanel filters work by trapping dirt particles within each of the oiled foam layers while allowing air to negotiate its way through, reducing restriction and offering much longer service intervals. We tested the filter at a leading motor testing centre ‘Mira’ on an industry recognised dust load test. On a full dust load test the foam filter was found to still be 99.3% efficient, filtering down to 5 micron while offering the least amount of restriction over similar products. FULL KIT The Revo 4.0 TFSi intake kit comes complete with RS7 air-box, Revo ProPanel filter, silicone hoses and fitting brackets. This single casting design with the cross bridges cast in place creates a very stiff unit and very little compliance during braking. Less compliance means less pedal travel because the brake fluid is only applying force to the pistons, not bending the caliper. This applies the maximum amount of force to the Ferodo performance brake pads. Our brakes use ultra-high-resilience piston seals, with proprietary retraction angle shape, minimising piston travel distance for less dead pedal travel and resulting in better pedal feel in the vehicle. BRAKE DISCS: Properly designed two-piece floating discs = quiet, warp-free performance. When brakes are applied and the moving energy (kinetic energy) is converted into heat, the disc expands radially and axially (diameter and thickness). Revo uses a floating disc that can thermally grow separate from the bell. This design is superior to a one-piece disc—when a one-piece disc is overheated, it gets much hotter than the bell and they expand at different rates, causing warpage or cracking. Revo Floating Disc Construction Racers have long used floating disc technology, but the discs found on racecars move freely on the floating pin drive connecting the bell to the disc, causing noise. To eliminate the rattling race disc for our street car customers, we have engineered a unique noise-reducing methodology that eliminates noise but still allows for thermal expansion without running out of "float." Turbo Inlet Hose The Revo Turbo Inlet Hose has been designed and engineered to directly replace the stock pipe and elbow found in vehicles with the 1.8 and 2.0 TSI engines with an IHI turbo. The Revo Turbo Inlet Hose offers a high-quality single piece replacement for the OEM parts which allows for smoother uninterrupted air flow, improving the throttle response and performance of your vehicle. Turbo Inlet The Revo machined inlet replaces the restrictive elbow found on the IS20/IS38 turbos. The machined billet aluminium inlet securely fits to the OE unit using locking tabs and integrated O-rings. With almost double the cross-sectional area compared to other available products, air can stabilise and distribute before a smooth tapered transition to the turbo. Removing the internal steps between components further ensures uninterrupted airflow and removes any unnecessary turbulence. Silicone Hose Design The Revo Turbo Hose as an increased inner diameter that gradually tapers from air box to turbo to optimise airflow, while maintaining the tolerances required to fit both LHD and RHD vehicles with a standard air box. Designed to directly replace the plastic hose and turbo elbow, this upgrade reduces restriction and maximises smooth airflow improving both power and torque throughout the rev range. A four-ply construction with an internal wire helix increases strength to prevent collapsing under pressure. Internal steps flush fit against the stock air box and the machined inlet, creating a smooth transition between components ensuring the smoothest airflow possible to the turbo. A machined bung is integrated in to the hose, connecting the stock PCV system vacuum. Research and Development All Revo products are designed in-house and are rigorously tested. The new custom design gives the highest level of aero performance, providing superior flow characteristics to achieve the required boost levels with less effect. The lightweight construction of the compressor wheel also ensures low inertia, resulting in increased performance.   TURBINE WHEEL The precisely engineered turbine wheel has been made with a custom high flow aero blade profile to compliment the aero of the compressor wheel. The result is an extremely high flow aero turbine wheel which increases exhaust gas choke flow limits and reduces backpressure.   HOUSING AND BEARINGS The bearing housing has also been enlarged and upgraded to make room for a specifically designed 360° thrust bearing system, incorporating a custom 4 oil-fed thrust pad for increased reliability. Precision VSR balanced to levels above the OEM specification, something seen in the motorsport industry. This reduces vibration to the lowest possible level and improves the performance and reliability of the turbocharger. INTEGRATED RECIRCULATING SYSTEM The integrated recirculation valve is fundamentally a blow-off valve integrated into the compressor housing. When the throttle valve is closed and the pressure in the inlet drops, the valve opens and air from the discharge side of the compressor is diverted back into the inlet of the compressor. LOW PRESSURE FUEL PUMP MQB 2.0T EA888 GEN3 The Revo Low-Pressure Fuel Pump has been designed and manufactured to directly replace the stock pump found in vehicles with the 2.0T TSI EA888 Gen3 engines that are running higher stages of tuning and the Revo IS38ETR (Enhanced Turbo by Revo). The Revo LPFP offers a high-quality replacement that’s compatible with the factory fuel basket and not requiring additional controllers. The in-tank low-pressure fuel pump is designed to provide the cam-driven high-pressure fuel pump with enough fuel to facilitate the required fuelling for each injector in the engine. The stock pump starts to become a restriction when you start running high demands from the IS38ETR. During ongoing development, it becomes apparent that after prolonged times the demand on the stock pump wasn’t providing the headroom for safety and longevity that we required. Following our tuning philosophy, we opted for designing an upgraded unit that would handle our current tuning as well as giving ample headroom for further tuning.
