    Finished in Pro-Series Black for that ultimate sleeper look Why do I need a front mount intercooler kit? The original charge cooler kit works OK on standard cars but on modified cars with increased boost pressure, the coolant temps in the charge cooler system cannot cope and start to climb to dangerously high levels, which can cause your ACTs (Air Charge Temperature) to rise to over 55 degrees, leading to power loss & possible engine damage. By fitting a front mount intercooler these ACTs are kept a safe temperature, which in turn will help your engine produce more power safely (please see ACT results below). This kit will take you approximately 4-6 hours to fit and can be carried out at home. There is no cutting, grinding or welding and you don’t need to turn your turbo housing with this kit. Please note this kit has been designed to use K&N Gen2 or similar as the original airbox cannot be used. Kit includes: AIRTEC 70m core  intercooler Alloy boost pipes Silicone hoses Full stainless steel jubilee clips Alloy battery relocation tray with clamps Step by step fitting instructions Comprehensive fitting kit included Test results taken at Torque of the Devil on 31/01/09 (Tested on our own test car, mods were Dream Science set on ‘Race’, stainless exhaust with de-cat, K&N Gen 2 air filter and uprated actuator.) Before intercooler was fitted the car made only 262bhp & 306 lb fof torque. After the AIRTEC intercooler was fitted it made a very impressive 292.7 bhp & 345 lb ft torque at 21psi peak boost. Act differences (Air charge temperature) Inlet temp (going into intercooler from turbo) = 158 degrees Outlet temp (coming out of intercooler going to inlet manifold) = 25 degrees That’s a 30bhp increase just by bolting on this kit with an amazing 133 degree drop in ACTs. Please remember our car has standard turbo & manifold and this kit will work even better fitted on cars with aftermarket manifolds and turbos.
