    RTS has developed the ultimate SMF conversion kit & flywheel Single Mass Flywheel RTS Single Mass Flywheel offers a particularly suitable solution for vehicles where the original DMF is unable to dissipate heat effectively, but in addition, it offers greater longevity over DMF technology and is much more cost effective to replace.Technically, the SMF will reduce engine vibrations due to the increased inertia of the solid flywheel. In addition, the SMF is extremely durable, due to its efficient heat dissipation qualities and the lack of complex high wearing flywheel components.Additionally, providing increased protection to your transmission as our clutches absorb more NVH and a longer life over the troublesome DMF.Weighted the same as the OE DMF allowing you to keep the changes in pedal and noise down to a minimum, and keeping MOI (Moment Of Inertia) on the crank the same as the OE, as to minimise the risk of crank walk.   Twin Friction   RTS unique “Twin Friction” (drive plate) has been developed using a unique flywheel side friction material whilst adopting a segmented pressure plate face. The aramid friction exhibits 50% less wear than a conventional drive plate friction material.This material also reduces the effects of fade. Fade is the decline in the clutch system’s ability to transmit torque as operating temperatures increases. These features in combination with the previously mentioned micro-structure of spheroidal casting and ER2 technology allows the clutch kit to dissipate heat far more effectively, allowing the clutch to run cooler for longer.RTS kit has been designed to transmit 60% more torque over the standard clutch kit and is suitable for every day driving, fast road and track/circuit racing whilst maintaining user-friendly driving experience. Paddle   Due to its inherent design, engines are subject to rotating fluctuations. To minimise/prevent this, the NVH is absorbed by RTS unique clutch damper – function which suppresses the movement of the free, spinning gears and vibration transmitted to the transmission.     The much loved 1.8T engine has proved itself as being not only being very capable in producing high power figures but in being very reliable at the same time. The key to this reliability is the lubrication system, which can quickly become overwhelmed when cars are driven quickly - or on track - causing oil starvation. Under extreme acceleration, braking or cornering, the oil can momentarily run out of the sump under centrifugal force, causing a temporary starvation through the oil-ways, putting critical bearings and bores at risk of damage.For those with bottomless pockets, a ‘dry sump’ system is the ideal preventative solution. But for those in the real world, our neatly engineered solution, based around a brand new OE-spec sump pan is the perfect alternative. Carefully configured baffles and Viton oil control valves ensure that the lubricant can easily move around the engine, but retains a minimum sump capacity, even under the most severe of ‘g’ forces. The relatively soft Viton plates react far quicker than equivalent metal flaps - which are often used on lesser alternatives - and have been designed to withstand the rigours of the high temperatures of oil and its contaminants.Our 1.8T Baffled Sump (FMBSMP18T) is a truly effective upgrade.
